The Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace is a permanent space dedicated to changing exhibitions from the Royal collection – an astonishing and wide-ranging collection of paintings, sculpture and other works of art as well as a glittering array of priceless treasure held in trust for the National by Her Majesty the Queen. Originally created over 40 years ago on the west front of Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s Gallery London was built out of the bomb-damaged ruins of a former private chapel and recently redeveloped
Current exhibitions at the Queen’s Gallery London include “Treasures From The Royal Collection” which brings together some of the greatest works of art acquired by Kings & Queens over the last 500 years and includes paintings by Vermeer, Rubens and Van Dyck, works by Fabergé as well as furniture, sculpture and ceramics, jewellery, silver and gold.
There are many places worth visiting in a short walking distance from Queens Gallery. Royal Mews, Guards Museum, Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms all showing the great history of this city.
